  • 3 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce, or tamarind
  • 3 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 salmon filets, skinless (~6 oz each)
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli heads
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, optional


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and grated ginger to make the glaze. Set glaze aside.
  3. On a large sheet pan, arrange the salmon filets on one side and the broccoli florets on the other.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the broccoli, season with salt and pepper, and lightly toss.
  5. Brush or spoon the glaze over the salmon filets, making sure it is evenly coated.
  6. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the broccoli is tender.
  7. While the salmon and broccoli are cooking, prepare your rice. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  8. Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
  9. To assemble the bowls, divide the rice and roasted broccoli among four serving bowls. Place a salmon filet on top of each bowl.
  10. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Cook times may vary due to salmon filets' thickness. The recommended internal temperature for fully cooked salmon is 145°F. To check if the salmon is fully cooked and flaky, insert a fork into the thickest part of the fish and gently twist. The flesh should easily flake apart and appear opaque throughout. If the salmon is still slightly translucent in the center, continue cooking for a few more minutes until it is fully cooked.
